How to attend SSB Interview more efficiently ?

SSB Interview is a time-tested scientific method for the evaluation of personality in a three-dimensional testing procedure. It involves psychometric analysis by Psychologist, Physical and mental efficiency tests by GTO, Soft skill and personality assessment by Interviewing Officer (I O )  through a process carried out independently by each of them.

Candidates aspiring for commission into Armed Forces have to get recommended in Services Selection Board Interview, which is a five days selection process. Candidates short-listed through entrance examinations conducted by UPSC / Headquarters of  Army , Navy and Air force will be called for SSB Interview. Certain categories of entry will be called for SSB Interview directly such as  10+2 Technical Entry Scheme (TES) , Technical  Graduate  Entry (TGE) , Judge Advocates General (JAG) and N C C Special Entry as they are exempted from Entrance Examinations.

Services Selection Centres are located at Bangalore, Bhopal, Allahabad and Kapurthala. Services Selection Boards for Navy and Air force are also functional at Mysore, Varanasi,  Dehradun, Gandhi Nagar, Coimbatore and Visakhapatnam.

SALIENT FEATURES OF S S B INTERVIEW

Services Selection Board Interview is conducted in two parts as under :-

  1. Screening Test– Conducted on the day of arrival. This consists of Officer’s Intelligence Rating ( OIR) Tests and Picture Perception and Discussion Test ( PP & DT ). Candidates who qualify in screening tests only will be allowed to the remaining part of the test.
  2. Main Test -During the second part, the following Tests will be conducted in four days ;

.Psychological Tests

It consists of the following:  OIR,    WAT,   TAT,   SRT,   SDT  etc.

Group Tests

It involves Group Tasks, Group Discussions, Group Planning Exercise, Lecturette, Individual Obstacle Course, Command Task etc. are carried out over two days.

Interview and Conference Interview

This is conducted for the assessment of soft skill, Personality traits, and officer-like qualities of Candidates. The SSB Interview is primarily designed to assess the suitability of a candidate in the following leadership traits and officer like qualities:-
