Dynamic and adventurous youth of the country aspiring for a glorious career in the Indian Air force should look for notification for the Air force Common Admission Test ( AFCAT) conducted by H Q I A F ( Personnel Branch ) twice in a year ( June and December).
Any Graduate with 60% marks and 10+2 with Physics and Mathematics with 50% marks are eligible to apply. Men and Women can join the Air force through four different modes of entry such as National Defence Academy ( Plus two entry for boys only) , Combined Defence Service ( CDS) , AFCAT and NCC Special Entry for Air Wing Senior Division ‘C’ Certificate holders. AFCAT Entry is for grant of short service commission in the Flying Branch of Air force up to 14 Years. Candidates holding valid and current Commercial Pilot License (CPL) issued by DGCA (India) are eligible for relaxation of age up to 26 years at the time of commencement of the Course. Candidates with the necessary educational qualification can opt for Ground Duty ( Technical Branch) and Ground Duty (Non-Technical Branch) for permanent commission as well as short service commission. Selected candidates found fit by Medical Examination Board will have to undergo pre-commission training in one or more of the following Training Institutions of I A F before commissioning: a) Air Force Academy ( A F A ) b) Air force Administrative College ( AFAC) c) Air Force Technical College ( AFTC) .
